Cruise The Bay Of Fundy

Weekend  Cruise

Our 2-day weekend cruise, boards Friday evenings. Get acquainted with the crew and other guests with a glass of wine and hor d' oeuvres on the deck or in the warm and inviting Main Salon. Passengers will enjoy beautiful mahogany trimmed cabins, with  large double beds and private bathrooms with showers.

After a hearty breakfast, passengers are encouraged to pitch in and help hoist the sails or just relax and enjoy the quiet cruise, as we set sail for a trip of a lifetime!

As we head out into the Bay of Fundy, we will pass by the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere, "The Old Sow". Look for eagles, seals, porpoise, whales and a variety of seabirds. As we glide along numerous lighthouses dot the many spruce-clad islands, you feel you are part of days gone by.

Minke, finback, humpback and the endangered right whales all make Bay of Fundy their summer home. Osprey, puffins, shearwaters, common terns, arctic terns and razorbills are often part of the spectacular scenery. Nature at her best !

After a carefree day of sailing we may anchor in a quiet cove or quaint fishing village, destination unknown, the wind and tide set our course. Maine lobster is the choice of the evening, on the beach or on the deck. Down East dining at its finest !

Drift off to a peaceful night sleep, knowing you have another memorable day on board the Halie & Matthew to wake up to !

The 4 day begins as the 2 day, but boarding on Sunday evening to set sail on Monday morning.

With favorable winds we'll sail to Machias Seal Island, home of the Puffins, then on to Grand Manan for a Lobsterbake in one of the harbors.

Tuesday we sail further into the Bay of Fundy along the New Brunswick coast. This becomes an exploration of  small harbors and fishing villages, while accompanied by spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife.

Wednesday we turn sou'west heading toward St. Andrews where we can anchor, go ashore and visit the seaside resort.

Thursday we head back to our home port, passing Old Sow, a great ending to a great trip.

5 Day Cruise

Not only is the Maine Coast is known for its rugged, beautiful coastline but also for the ever popular seaside resorts of Bar Harbor and Camden. A new perspective on visiting these harbors is by sea from “Down East”.

Board on Sunday evening, settle in, stroll through our quiet little city, as we ready for the morning sail.

Monday morning we sail out of Canada’s Head Harbor Passage, down the backside of Campobello, N. B. toward Rogue Bluffs, a picturesque, secluded harbor, ideal for the much anticipated Maine Lobsterbake.

Tuesdays, destination… Mount Dessert Island. Cadillac Mountain provides the background as we approach the “world famous” Bar Harbor region. A shoreside visit is a must! Sight seeing and the many quaint shops are some of the many attractions.

Wednesday, as we explore our way through Penobscot Bay, we head for Camden Harbor, busied by many of Maine’s Windjammer Fleet, making way. Shore leave again for a walk through the town.

On Thursday, as we turn toward home, fair sailing, there maybe be time for visits to Somes Sound and Northeast Harbor.

Friday, back to our home port, in Eastport.
