Charter

Charter the schooner Halie & Matthew this summer for your vacation, special event or business retreat, on the Bay of Fundy and down the Maine coast.

Join in the sailing of the vessel or sit back and enjoy the travel while the captain and crew provide you with entertainment and food service such as the traditional clam and lobster bake in a secluded cove along the way. Plan with us your own itinerary within this cruising ground. Whether it is a two-day exploration or a seven-day cruise.

Terms and Conditions

Payment
We require, at the time you book your reservation, a deposit equal to 50% of the cruise rate, per person. The balance may be paid anytime thereafter, but prior to boarding. Deposit payments may be made in cash, or by check (drawn on a US bank in US funds) or by credit card. The purpose of the deposit is to protect your cruise rate from increases and to guarantee your cruise reservation. Deposits must be received within seven days of booking. If you wait until boarding to pay your balance, the payment must be made in cash or by credit card.

Cancellation
If you find it necessary to cancel your trip, your deposit minus a booking fee equal to 10% of the cruise price, per person, will be refunded if:

- we receive written notice 45 days prior to your scheduled departure date, and

- we are able to rebook your cabin.

Any booking fees charged to you as a result of your cancellation may be applied to a cruise at any future date.

Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance
To protect your investment we strongly suggest purchasing trip cancellation insurance.

Advanced or Delayed Sailings/Itinerary Changes
The Halie and Matthew Company has the right to cancel, advance, postpone or substitute any scheduled sailings, itinerary or port-of-call without notice. The Halie and Matthew Company may, but is not obligated to, substitute another vessel for sailing and cannot be liable for loss to passengers by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement or substitution. The Captain’s judgement on any action or inaction is considered final. Reservations are subject to change in the event of a full ship charter.

Passenger Responsibility

Passengers will be required to complete statements of indemnification and proficiency levels covering any onboard activities such as dive and watersport activities and carry all necessary health certificates, dive logbook and diver certification. The Halie and Matthew Company reserves the right to refuse passage to anyone when, in our judgement, it would constitute a risk to his or her well being or that of other passengers.

Medical Condition/Physical Disability - Any dietary requirements, medical condition, or physical disability must be reported to The Halie and Matthew Company when a reservation is made. The ship owners, their employees and agents reserve the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who is, in their sole judgement, in such physical or mental condition as to be unfit for travel, or who may require care and attention beyond which the ship owners or their employees can provide.
Any complication due to a pregnancy that may arise or occur during a cruise will not be the responsibility or the liability of the ship owners, their employees or agents.

Smoking - is allowed in open air areas only. Absolutely NO SMOKING BELOW DECKS. This is strictly enforced for your safety and comfort.

Open Liquor - Due to recent changes in customs regulations and liability restrictions, we are forced to prohibit opened personal liquor bottles in cabins. This policy will be strictly enforced.
